Bob Jones University Implements ProcureIT in Purchasing Department, Warehouse, Hospital, and all Educational Departments

Verian Technologies Continues Expansion into Higher Education

Charlotte, NC - March 16, 2001 - Verian Technologies, a leading supplier of web-based procurement and materials management technology, today announced Bob Jones University is installing ProcureIT in all locations around the campus. The University selected ProcureIT after identifying an explicit need to automate purchasing and material management processes. ProcureIT's ability to integrate with all systems throughout the University and its user-friendly features were among the main reasons Bob Jones University selected this software. The University went live with ProcureIT in August 2000 and is now installing the system in phases for its 700 licensed users. In January 2001 Bob Jones University became a beta site for ProcureIT. The University has already noticed a return on investment when requisitions began to be issued for purchase orders in just over an hour. Before ProcureIT, the approval process would have taken two weeks.

Currently, the warehouse, hospital and educational departments have implemented ProcureIT. Soon to be using ProcureIT is the Educational Technology Department, which airs the Live Interactive Network classroom (LINC) to hundreds of schools and supplies TV programs to home-schooled children across the country, and also the university press, a division of the University that supplies books to Bob Jones
and to numerous schools around the country. Both departments will be using ProcureIT for supply purchases from vendors outside the University.

"Our vision was to find a system that would simplify and regulate purchasing and requisitioning in all departments throughout the university," said Bob Priest, Project Manager for Bob Jones University. "All workstations, both Mac and PC, at Bob Jones University needed to have access to the purchasing software and because ProcureIT is 100% browser-based, our IT department did not have to install each client workstation. The ProcureIT user can conduct any part of the procurement process from any desktop on the local area network (LAN). ProcureIT has totally changed our procurement process by eliminating our previously paper-based operation."

Bob Jones University will use ProcureIT in all departments that require the need for a process that allows data to be passed from one database to another. The new system will also allow users to navigate through a catalog of items in the University's multiple warehouse system to find products in stock or request purchase of an item.
